Our Mission

BeyondPain is a holistic resource and a community bridging support gaps for people dealing with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. Our initiative not only offers vital information on CRPS symptoms, treatments, and coping strategies but also creates a platform for personal connection and shared experiences, which are both essential for emotional and psychological well-being.

  • Inspired by my journey through pain and recovery, I am creating a comprehensive support network for people dealing with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). My vision is to provide a holistic, user-friendly platform that offers detailed information about CRPS symptoms, treatments, and coping strategies. My project is built on my firsthand experience at Boston Children’s Pediatric Pain Rehabilitation Center (PPRC), where I found the support and tools necessary to manage my condition and return to a fulfilling life.

Central to the project is a user-friendly website that serves as a hub for knowledge and support. The site will feature personal stories from those living with CRPS, interviews with medical experts, and a wealth of resources for patients and their families. I believe that sharing these stories will foster a sense of community and provide much-needed hope and encouragement to those navigating their own CRPS journeys. The website will also include a blog, offering updates on the latest research, personal reflections, and practical advice on living with CRPS.

In addition to the online resources, my project will organize recurring virtual meetups where individuals can share their experiences and support one another. These meetups aim to create a safe and empathetic space for participants to connect, discuss challenges, and celebrate victories. Recognizing the importance of accessible information, I plan to partner with local hospitals, including Boston Children's, to distribute informative pamphlets and provide essential information to newly diagnosed patients and their families

Beyond these initiatives, I envision expanding my support network to include a branded CRPS Patient Handbook, CRPS-Friendly Wellness Kits, and a CRPS Support Group. To further raise awareness and funds for research, Mia plans to organize CRPS fundraisers and create an ambassador program where people can host events to promote the organization. Through this comprehensive approach, I hope to empower people living with CRPS, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to thrive despite their challenges.
